Emergency Medicine Clinical Research

Our mission for clinical research in the Emergency Medicine Department is to promote and facilitate high quality research in the area of urgent and emergent conditions in order to improve health outcomes for patients. The Section provides a forum for Emergency Medicine faculty, staff, residents, and students to exchange ideas and develop novel approaches to clinical problems through high quality Emergency Medicine research. Our key values are scientific integrity, methodological rigor, creativity, and clinical relevance.

Most clinical research is currently based at our downtown location at Grady Memorial Hospital.  The majority of our research faculty and staff offices are located on the first floor of the Steiner building and the FOB building on the Grady Memorial Hospital campus.

We support research at three clinical facilities, each with their own unique patient population and expertise. The three facilities are the Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, and Grady Memorial Hospital Emergency Departments.

We are also an Atlanta Clinical & Translational Science Institute (ACTSI) Clinical Interaction Site.
