Dr. Alex Isakov Contributes to Disaster Resilience Report Released by National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine

"Strengthening the Disaster Resilience of the Academic Biomedical Research Community: Protecting the Nation's Investment," a book-length report newly published by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, surveys the impact of past disasters on academic institutions and research projects, and presents a set of ten recommendations for improving disaster preparedness, response and resilience. Dr. Alex Isakov, MD, MPH, Professor of Emergency Medicine and Executive Director of the Emory University Office of Critical Event Preparedness, served on the Committee on Strengthening the Disaster Resilience of Academic Biomedical Research Communities, which authored the report, and co-hosted a webinar desrcibing it. "I would recommend that every person involved in biomedical research, whether they be a principal investigator or a president, read this report and adapt the recommendations to their individual laboratories and institutions," said Dr. Isakov.
