Dr. Patty Schiff named by Dean Larsen to the Emory School of Medicine Alumni Board

Dr. Patty Schiff:  named by Dean Larsen to the Emory School of Medicine Alumni Board. Dr. Schiff has been a volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Emory since 2008 and has served on the board of the Emory Alumni since 2009. Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Schiff attended the University of Rhode Island and received a BS in Nutrition. Following her undergraduate education, Patty obtained a Masters of Medical Science from Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia in 1981.  Her thesis involved the study of inborn errors of metabolism. Graduation was followed by several years of research at the Clinical Research Center at Emory.  She graduated from Emory School of Medicine in 1988 and completed her residency training in Emergency Medicine at Emory in 1991.

Dr. Schiff currently holds a position as a medical consultant for the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. Since 2000, Patty has also worked as a ship physician for Lindblad Expeditions with National Geographic.  Shipboard work has taken her to such remote locations as Antarctica, the Arctic, and Baja California. Dr. Schiff is a model volunteer faculty member, donating many hours of her time to teach Emory medical students and residents.
