Christine Gisness, EM Nurse Practitioner: Inducted into the Academy of Emergency Nursing (AEN)

Chris Gisness , one of Emory EM’s Associate Providers, will be inducted as a Fellow into the Academy of Emergency Nursing at the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) annual conference in San Diego on September 15, 2012. Chris Gisness, known for her contributions in emergency nursing nationally and internationally, will be among 13 other inductees who are being honored through this prestigious award. The only inductee from Georgia, Chris is recognized for her leadership as an instructor for ENA’s Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), a pre-requisite for the RNs to work in the Marcus Trauma Center of Grady’s Emergency Department.

In addition to her numerous professional certifications, Chris is a clinical instructor for Emory University’s Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Program and also provides direct patient care as an Associate Provider for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Grady. She is an ambassador for ENA to Russia, as well as other foreign venues, and has held key leadership positions for ENA at the national, state and local levels. As a Fellow of the AEN, Chris will be recognized for her enduring and substantial impact on emergency nursing and will join 87 extraordinary emergency nurses who proudly list FAEN as one of their professional credentials.
