Dr. Ander joined the Emory University School of Medicine faculty in 1996. He received his MD at Hahnemann University School of Medicine and completed his emergency medicine and internal medicine residency at Henry Ford.

Dr. Ander is the recipient of:

  • ACEP National Teaching Award
  • Emory University School of Medicine Dean’s Teaching Award
  • Morehouse School of Medicine Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society Volunteer Faculty Award
  • Emory School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program Honorary Degree
  • Georgia Association of Physician Assistants Teacher of the year (twice)

Dr. Ander is a member of American Medical Association, Alpha Omega Alpha, Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, American College of Emergency Physicians, Association of Standardized Patient Educators, and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. His research interests include: medical education and interprofessional education. Another area of scholarly interest is heart failure and health literacy in the ER.
