Overview
Dr. Douglas S. Ander earned his Medical Degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he was also Chief Resident in the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Ander is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Assistant Dean for Medical Education at Emory University School of Medicine. He is responsible for direct patient care and supervision of residents, medical students, physicians assistants and nurse practitioners at Grady Memorial Hospital Emergency Department for the past 28 years. Dr. Ander has authored multiple journal articles, book chapters, and other publications, and he is active on numerous committees at his institution and nationally. He serves as an editor for several journals. Recently his scholarly and educational efforts have focused on inter-professional teamwork education. When he is not at work, Dr. Ander loves spending time training for triathlons, skiing, scuba diving, and traveling with his family.

Focus
- In the field of medical education, I am involved in the assessment of new teaching methods and evaluation tools. In particular I have concentrated on simulation, team training, clinical skills and evaluation. Clinical research interest is the evaluation and treatment of heart failure in the emergency department.
